Correspondence and circular letters mainly represent activities of the the Lithographic Artists', Engravers', and Designers' League of America, a forerunner of the Amalgamated Lithographers of America, of which Kitchelt was the national president. Essays reflect Kitchelt's experiences as a lithographer, and his experiences during a period of unemployment.
