Summary
  • Tracks 1-8. African American singer, actress and dancer Lena Horne (June 30, 1917- May 9, 2010) discusses her long-term music, dance and dramatic career, and her collaboration with various musicians, songwriters, directors and producers. Horne recalls her way from nightclub performer to Hollywood. She also talks about her personal life, her family background, her marriages (the first one, to Louis Jordan Jones in January 1937, and the second one, to Lennie Hayton in December 1947), and about her children and grandchildren. Horne also recounts the enormous pressure she and Hayton faced as an interracial couple that was one of the reasons for their separation in the early 1960's.
