  1. A small quantity of letters and manuscript material by American author Bret Harte, as well as a document generated in his capacity as United States Consul in Glasgow, Scotland. Material includes holograph copies of his poems "Truthful James to the Editor," "Guild's Signal," and "Dickens in Camp;" an untitled manuscript; a partial draft of "Washington in New Jersey;" and an 1884 statement showing the principal imports to Glasgow from the United States.
