Summary
Emmanuéle Phuon and Eric J. Sargis discuss their backgrounds and how they began working together on this project, Phuon talks about Khmeropédies I & II and why she decided to work with Cambodian dancers, where the title originated, how her task for this project involved using the Cambodian language and taking it in a new western direction, the juxtaposition of the traditional monkey role with the natural monkey movement, how the Cambodian training of the dancers helped in this creative process, the process involved with transferring the movement to the dancers, Phuon's choreographic process, and what she gave the dancers and what she took away from the experience.
