Program devoted to the varied holdings of the New York Public Library for the Performing Arts at Lincoln Center, on the occasion of Lincoln Center's fiftieth anniversary. Composers and lyricists whose personal archives are held by the library are represented by performances of some of their songs. Theater luminaries such as John Gielgud, Lillian Gish, and critic Brooks Atkinson, are represented by readings from their correspondence, and there are also readings from the diaries of actess Uta Hagen and playwright John Van Druten.
