  1. The Cochran family papers consist of the diary, in shorthand, of John W. Cochran of Illinois and Vancouver, Washington, kept while serving with Illinois Volunteers during the Civil War, a few letters to him from Robert G. Ingersoll, clippings and photographs relating to various family members and to the funeral of Abraham Lincoln, and genealogical notes (1924-1926) relating to the Cochran and Woodcock families.
