Summary
  1. Lewis Cass (1782-1866) was an American soldier, diplomat, and politician. The papers consist of regimental orders delivered by Cass during the War of 1812; letters relating to his military duties during and after the war; and letters sent by Cass over the course of his long political and diplomatic career. Also included is an indenture relating to land in Detroit, and a small quantity of bills and accounts.
