Description
  1. 1 print : lithograph, hand-tinted; 37 x 27 cm.
Summary
  1. Prints of the English dancer-actress Louise Fairbrother. The lithograph, which is titled Columbine, is a three-quarter-length portrait, without coloring except for the faint pink of her lips and cheeks. The colored etching, published in the series Lacy's dramatic costumes, appears to have been copied from a lithograph by John Brandard after a drawing by J.W. Childe. It depicts Fairbrother playing the breeches role of Abdullah, sometimes called Aladdin, in G.A. Beckett and Mark Lemon's play Open sesame, or a night with the forty thieves, presented at the Lyceum Theatre in London in 1844.
