- Michel Fokine's ballet The firebird (music, Igor Stravinsky) was first presented by Serge Diaghilev's Ballets Russes in 1910, and since then has appeared in versions by many other choreographers. Nelle Fisher choreographed and designed costumes for a capsule version presented on a program called "Some Birds in Music" by the Little Orchestra Society at Philharmonic Hall, Lincoln Center, New York, on Jan. 30, 1965. The cast included Francesca Corkle, then aged 12, in the title role. Fisher herself danced a handmaiden.
- Nelle Fisher, 1914-1994, was a dancer, choreographer, company director, and teacher.
