- Summary
- Segment one: Joel Grey announces the concert and introduces and interviews performers and guests at the concert such as folk musicians Pete Seeger and Arlo Guthrie, African American blues and folk musician, singer, and songwriter Elizabeth "Libba" Cotten, and American folk musician and researcher-musicologist Bess Lomax Hawes during the intermissions. They discuss American folk music, and with Cotten her life, guitar and late fame. Includes excerpts from a documentary film on the early history of American folk music.
