  1. Rebroadcast and shortened (60 min.) version of musical originally broadcast on NBC on September 12, 1970. "The life and songs of George M. Cohan, Broadway's Yankee Doodle Dandy. The show is based on the Broadway musical, but the approach is new. Producer Martin Charnin: 'What we're presenting is a rehearsal of George M! The actors appear as themselves as well as the characters in the show.' Joel Grey and Bernadette Peters re-create their Broadway roles.
