• Proof copy comb-bound with paper wrapper with hand-written sale and publication information mimeographed on front wrapper, with author's name, title, and imprint.
• Proof copy not illustrated except for b&w photograph of author as youth in Beat Hotel on back wrapper.
• Foreword by William S. Burroughs.
• Several portions of the novel are written in cut-up style, with which Burroughs was experimenting at the Beat Hotel at the same time.
• With English translation of excerpt from Weissner's preface to the German edition.
• In the late 1950s and early 1960s, the Beat Hotel, at 9 Rue Git-le-Coeur, was the home for luminaries of the Beat generation, who resided there briefly or for extended periods: Allen Ginsberg, Jack Kerouac, Peter Orlovsky, William S. Burroughs, Brion Gysin, and Gregory Corso; also a resident was the Beat author and poet Harold Norse (1916-2009).
