These papers date from 1851 to 1887 and include orders and letters to him from Farragut, Dahlgren, Porter, and others; an order to command the captured slave ship Ardennes; an order (October 23, 1862) from Commodore H. H. Bell for blockade of Mobile Bay; a letter (March 6, 1883) from the U. S. Consulate General in Rio de Janeiro giving brief statistics of death and disease in 1883; Weaver's record at the United States Naval Academy; and other materials.
