- Journal of Joseph Walsh, midshipman on the U.S. Frigate Constellation. The journal dates intermittently from August 12, 1829 to February 8, 1839, beginning while Walsh was on a cruise in the Mediterranean in the squadron of Commodore James Biddle. On October 25, 1829, he transferred to the Frigate Java in the same squadron.
