Summary
  1. In the first half of the program (2:00-3:00 P. M.), host Fred Child talks with Joel Sachs, artistic director of Summergarden, an annual free concert series at the Museum of Modern Art (MOMA). Its 4th year is entitled: "Coming of age: The flowering of American music, 1945-1970". Some pieces that will be featured during Summergarden are played live in the WNYC performance studio. In the second half of the program (3:00-4:00 P. M.), host Fred Child talks with Rodger Lee (trumpet) about his career and his new CD "New American trumpet sonatas" (1994), and performs live in the WNYC performance studio. Composer Allen Cohen also visits the show and performs live on piano with Lee (his "Song of myself").
