Summary
  1. Audio excerpts from an event for civil rights workers in Greenwood, Mississippi, including songs sung by the crowd, chants, and speeches. Harry Belafonte speaks about his reasons for coming to the event and his work for the civil rights movement, and introduces Sidney Poitier. Poitier speaks about the personal significance of the event for him. Other speakers are unidentified; subjects of speeches include the SNCC-sponsored boycott of white-owned stores in Greenwood; police brutality and police harassment of blacks and civil rights workers; and the murder of three activists, James Chaney, Andrew Goodman, and Michael Schwerner, earlier in the summer of 1964. The recording ends abruptly.
