- Summary
- Papers of the Reverend James Cririe, a Presbyterian minister of Dalton, Dumfrieshire, Scotland, consist of sermons and lectures, dated 1802-1821, and a manuscript entitled "The Psalms of David, with some slight alterations by way of improvement, on the metre version, appointed by the General Assembly of the Kirk of Scotland, to be used in families and churches, in the year 1639 / By Rev. James Cririe, D. D., of Dalton, Dumfrieshire," believed to have been written in 1800.
- A preliminary leaf of the manuscript reads: "An attempt to smooth some asperities in the metre version of the Psalms of David." Text on pages 49-55 has been replaced by revised and additional material.
