A musical tribute to composer Gioacchino Rossini, staged as a nineteenth-century gala performance at the palace of Versailles supposedly given in the presence of the composer who is played by an actor sitting in a box. Included: selections from "Il Barbiere di Siviglia," "Semiramide," "William Tell," "Il Viaggio a Reims," "Tancredi," "La Cenerentola" and "Moise".
