  4. "Sonnekus² by John Cage uses the first book of Moses as source material and Sonneries, an abbreviation of Satie's title Sonneries de la rose & croix as string. The published music for each of these nine songs appears together with its text. The music is printed in miniature, in red ink ... Michael Silver made a new work after a drawing by Mell Daniel"--P. [24].
  5. The drawing by Daniel is an untitled abstract ink and watercolor work executed in the 1920s. Cf. Christie's (New York) sale cat. no. 2286 (Jan. 12, 2010), lot 18.
  6. "The type is Venus Light Extended, cast at Fundición Tipográfica Neufville, set at Horton Tank Graphics and printed at Wild Carrot Letterpress on Kozo paper. The music has been printed in red by David Lantow onto Gampi. The presentation of the music was arranged by John Cage. Michael Silver has made his work with platinum, watercolor and Gampi. This work was bound at Garthegaat Bindery. The design is by Benjamin Shiff"--Colophon.
  7. "[With] one unique work ... by Michael Silver. The artist has made a photographic platinum print on Sekishu Torinoko Gampi, which he has placed over layers of watercolor painted onto the same transparent tissue used for the platinum ... The text and display type has been hand set by Arthur Larson at Horton Tank Graphics ... The type was printed by Daniel Keleher at Wild Carrot Letterpress ...The text was positioned by chance ... on each sheet printed. The type was printed on a hand made Korean Kozo paper. The music ... was printed ... from lithographic plates ... The music was positioned by chance ... on each sheet printed. The size of the music changes a number of times for each of the songs. The music is printed either on the surface of the tissue or on the underside as determined by chance operations. The sheets of Gampi carrying the printed songs have been laminated to sheets of Kozo paper. The sheets carrying the image and facing half-title have been laminated to Gampi ... The cover paper was hand made by Paul Wong at Dieu Donné, with a pigmented linen rag pulp couched onto a base sheet of cotton rag. The books and exhibition sheets were bound and/or assembled at Jovonis Bindery [sic]"--The first meeting of the Satie Society, c1994, p. [3] at end.
