- Henrietta Garnett, the granddaughter of Vanessa Bell, while visiting Bell heard a radio broadcast by Vita Sackville-West for the series "World of Books," and she writes to express her enjoyment and admiration. "I was extremely amused at Tennyson being called a widow with a military husband -- indeed we all were, Duncan [Grant] and Vanessa giggling and smirking respectively."
