- This travel diary was kept by C[?] Miller from January 1-December 31, 1856 and contains brief entries made during a journey from Wisconsin to Vermont and then to the author's home in New York (at Morrisania?). Entries describe preparations and removal to Wisconsin; the journey through Troy, Niagara, Chicago, and other places to Beaver Dam, Wisconsin; new home and business affairs; and other subjects. The diary also mentions real estate transactions, the purchase of a hotel at Fall River, and family affairs.
