- Walter Toscanini, the son of conductor Arturo Toscanini, wrote a scenario for a ballet called Vita militare, or Military life, but there is no evidence that it was ever produced. Giorgio Abkhasi was born in Georgia (then part of the Russian empire), studied in Paris, and settled in Italy, where he designed sets for theatre, opera, ballet, and films.
