- Unique artist's book, signed by Wood and dated "October 2009."
- Each page or double-page spread incorporates part of a screenprinted reproduction of a single calligraphic image by Wood, depicting a ship with a calligraphed excerpt from Kenneth Grahame's The wind in the willows, printed on black paper embossed with a wave design. Wood has inscribed further calligraphed excerpts from the book on each print. Last leaf is folded; unfolded, it displays the entire, unaltered screenprint.
- "[Wood] conceived the idea of creating a book using some existing serigraph prints which he had had for many years, as the basis of an original work ... This book was an interesting challenge to make a coherent design of the entire book using the same print source without each page looking similar ... It enabled him to create different design elements as well as colour components and appropriate letterforms to convey the movement and energy of this text. Original lettering was combined with the existing screen[p]rinted letterforms, integrating subtle colour formations as well as some airbrushing"--Dave Wood's Web site, retrieved July 26, 2011.
- Binding (note)
- Issued in illustrated black paper-covered boards, stabbed and sewn with a black cord, Japanese style; eight small colored glass fish are suspended from the ends of the cord. Front cover has a copy of the print folded accordion-style to present a riged surface. "The cover was created making a miniature concertina fold, using the entire graphic in this process. It was then hand bound using a simple binding"--Dave Wood's Web site. Issued in a purple and black cardboard box, with a fragment of the print mounted on box cover.
