Summary
An unidentified host at Karamu House in Cleveland honors Blake and Sissle for their contribution to American culture at the 47th annual meeting of board of trustees and directors. Coincidentally, it is also the 47th year of their partnership as creators of music works and performers. In his speech, Sissle expresses gratitude for the tribute paid to both of them and then proceeds with the history of spirituals, blues, jazz and ragtime music. He talks about his work with Blake, show business, different tendencies in American and European music, and interviews Blake about his career. Throughout the presentation, Sissle and Blake perform various compositions.
