Description
  1. 1 videodisc (NTSC) (76 min.) : sd., col.; 4 3/4 in.
Summary
  1. The panel discusses David Lang's music, how each choreographer (Jessica Lang and Pontus Lidberg) decided on the order of the two works and how they worked with the music. Jessica Lang used a similar approach for choreographing both sections, used David Lang's program notes for assistance, and concludes with how she approached the choreography structurally. David Lang discusses how he composed these two musical compositions beginning with the problem solving aspect of putting the endless melody into regular shape and deciding to add a military beat, and concluding with his excitement about having his music used by choreographers to create works. Pontus Lidberg discusses what it was like to see Jessica Langs dances, compares his film editing to his choreographic approach, how he chose the order of the two works, his lyrical response to the music, adding a melody because the music doesnt have one, and concludes with the meaning of this five week project to him.
