  1. President Jimmy Carter dedicates the concert to Congressmen and their families, gathered on the lawn. His introduction of Andre Kostelanetz mentions that the young musician arrived in the United States in 1922 and since then has sold 52 million records. Kostelanetz conducts The Marine Band and representatives of the Bands of the Army and Air Force, and the President declares that the conductor is one of the few men alive who can create harmony among the three branches of the military. The following musical works performed during the concert are: Overture to Mozart's The marriage of Figaro, Mendelssohn's Italian symphony, Tchaikovsky's fantasy-overture Romeo and Juliet and ["1812 overture. The concert ends with fireworks and applause. President Carter closes the concert" -- Program notes on container, not found on sound disc.]
