The way you look tonight / Kern (orchestra) ; What's the use of wondering / Rodgers (Jane Froman, soprano) ; Tribute to Froman, injured in a plane crash on a USO wartime tour ; Flamingo / Grouya ; Stars in your eyes / Schwartz ; Clair de lune / Debussy (orchestra) ; Appeal for funds for the Alfred E. Smith Hospital in New York, N.Y. ; How deep is the ocean / Berlin (Froman) ; Chrysler sign off -- Time for women : ABC news commentary. Shelley Mydans interviews Andre Kostelanetz. He discusses such topics as his wartime tours; closing the gap between popular and classical music; and the classical musical education of young children -- Feature story. Andre Kostelanetz speaks with Charles Shaw about music in the postwar world after his visits to England and the Soviet Union. War developed a huge new audience, making music a common language, he says. GIs spread our popular music throughout the world, but not at the expense of classical and "native" music.
