Summary
Kaija Saariaho and Luca Veggetti discuss their backgrounds and accomplishments. Kaija discusses how she commissioned this work for ballet, her approach to composing for ballet, how she creates music, and how she feels about not having control over the outcome of live performances. Veggetti discusses his approach to creating dance for live music, working with new dancers, and the process of selecting and working with them, and how he created this choreographic work. This discussion concludes with both panelist talking about current and upcoming projects.
