- Summary
- Frederic Franklin discusses his dance career beginning with childhood experiences including his Royal Academy of Dance exams, his first dance job at the age of 17 yrs. old at the Casino de Paris with performers including Josephine Baker, dancing with Louise Brown and Wendy Toye, performing with the Markova-Dolin Ballet and the Ballet Russe de Monte Carlo, and starting his company Slavenska-Franklin Ballet with Mia Slavenska. Franklin reminisces about his leading ladies and their differences, dancing with George Balanchine, coaching and staging ballets, currently performing with American Ballet Theatre, and his first performance at the old Met in New York after a fourteen day boat crossing from England.
