  • Two editions are known. This ed., containing 52 p., has first 2 words of title in uppercase Roman characters and spelling "liefde" in 9th word of title; printer's forename begins with Z. The other ed., containing 24 p., has first 2 words of title in upper- and lowercase Gothic characters and spelling "liefden" in 9th word of title; printer's forename begins with S.   • Record of the hors-concours performance of De Witte Angieren, a Haarlem chamber founded by Flemish refugees that participated in the competition of Dutch chambers of rhetoric held in Haarlem, October 22-30, 1606, to benefit a lottery for the construction of an old age asylum; for the 12 other performances, cf. Const-thoonende iuweel (Zwol : Zacharias Heyns, 1607). The building afterwards erected (Oudemannenhuis) presently houses the Frans Halsmuseum in Haarlem.

  • Fonts employed include Civilité.
  • Illustrations: 3 prints : engraving, etching ; various sizes. Comprise t.p. vignette incorporating arms of Haarlem, as on t.p. of Const-thoonende iuweel; full-page emblematic blason of De Witte Angieren (leaf A1v; appears on verso of t.p. of 24-p. ed.); and folding oblong plate on 3 conjoined sheets (unfolds to 88 cm. wide) depicting the festive entry of the costumed actors. Folding plate exists in 2 states, with letterpress legend in roman and italic and with legend in roman and gothic. . -- There is also 1 p. with a woodcut musical score (not present in 24-p. ed.).
