"Designed and produced at the Arion Press in San Francisco by Andrew Hoyem, with the assistance of Gerald Reddan, Blake Riley, Lewis Mitchell, Kenneth Howard, Brian Ferrett, David Johnston, Sarah Songer, Anna Haglin, Charles Martin, Diana Ketcham, and Laura Samuelsson. The type is Centaur, designed by Bruce Rogers, composed and cast at Mackenzie & Harris, printed by letterpress. The initial letters were drawn by Mallette Dean for the Grabhorn Press. The illustrations were made as polymer plates from film, its emulsion scratched by the artist William T. Wiley with an etching needle. The plates were also printed by letterpress. The paper is an all-cotton fiber sheet made for this book by Mead Specialty Papers, supplied by Legion Paper. This is the first of two volumes of the eighty-sixth publication of the Arion Press"--Colophon, book 1. Colophon to book 2 is the same, except it names as assistants Gerald Reddan, Blake Riley, Lewis Mitchell, Kenneth Howard, Brian Ferrett, David Johnston, Leif Erlandsson, Sarah Songer, Anna Haglin, Charles Martin, Diana Ketcham and Krista Johnson, and notes that book 2 is "the eighty-ninth publication of the Arion Press, the second of two volumes."
  3. Contains 97 full-page relief prints, printed in sepia. Initial Q on title pages printed in red-brown.
