- Continuation of Ted Shawn's lecture no. 3 (tracks 1-4) and Ruth St. Denis's commentary on films of her dancing Yogi, Gregorian chant and other dances (tracks 5-8), in each case at the Jacob Pillow's Dance Festival, in Lee, Mass., in the early 1950s. The Ted Shawn lecture may be a continuation of the lecture no. 3 recorded in Ted Shawn: pedagogy lecture no. 2 (excerpt) and pedagogy lecture no. 3 (excerpt). Carol Lynn, who was the cinematographer, is present but does not speak.
- Sound quality ranges from good to poor. Tracks 3 and 4 of the recording are marred at times by an extraneous high pitched noise, but Ted Shawn's voice is almost always clearly audible. Ruth St. Denis's voice is soft but also usually is clearly audible. The sound quality on track 9 is poor.
