Dr. Helen Fisher discusses her study and research on the brains of people in love using fMRI brain scanners; the evolution of human families including why we marry, why we have divorce, why we remarry, and why we fall in love with one person rather than another; what is romantic love along with the three basic emotions; discussion of animals in love and how pair bonding (monogomy) developed in humans and the reason for divorces; how animals developed traits to enhance sexual selection and the biological reasons for personality and chemical systems causing individuals to fall in love with one person over another, this was achieved through a survey for the matchmaking site Chemistry.com containing the four basic personality trait systems (Explorer, Builder, Director, and Negotiator) to help determine how people make dating selections.
