  1. · To "Sir" : 1 autograph letter signed : 18 Jul 1834 : (BLES 1.075) : from Privy Council Office, Downing St. : begins, "I have to request you will do me the favor to inform me whether the Book of Beauty is still open to contribution ... I have written some lines which have been approved by those who have seen them -- 100 lines rhyming upon a woman's name." Though the letter is addressed to "Sir," the recipient was clearly Lady Blessington, editor of the Book of Beauty. Mounted in v. 1 of the Blessington Papers. Shelved with oversized manuscript volumes.
