Summary
Discs contain recording of a complete concert recorded by WNYC radio for New Sounds Live, hosted by John Schaefer. Before the music, Schaefer interviews the performers briefly about their pieces and musical background. The first performer, David Gilden, plays several unidentified West African folk tunes and arrangements of "Scotland the brave" and Bach's "Jesu, joy of man's desiring" on the hora. The second performers, Michael and Paul Galasso, play violin solos and violin and cello duets from their album "Scenes" (one of selections is from Robert Wilson's "$ value of man"), two pieces from theatrical plays: "Quarantine" (from the play "Quarantine"); "John Wayne no. 1-2" (from the play "Echo ranch") and a live premiere of an unidentified work for solo violin. On CD 3, the third performers, David Hykes and The Harmonic Choir, perform selections of overtone choral works from their albums "Harmonic meetings" and "Hearing solar winds". After closing remarks by Schaefer, disc 3 ends with audience audio and audio tones.
