Summary
Judith Malina, co-founder and co-director of the Living Theatre, speaks about breaking theatrical traditions and creating new, revolutionary ones that became a main concept of this non-fiction theater. She talks about her work with Julian Beck, an abstract expressionist painter of the New York School and co-founder of the theater, until his death in 1985. They where both non-violent anarchists when they founded the Living Theatre in New York in 1947, she says. She tells about the difficult history of the theatre, long-lasting tours across Europe during 15 years in 1950s-1960s and such. At the end of the lecture she reads excerpts from her poem Every one of the cleaning women, and answers the questions from the audience.
