- · To "Dear Sir" [probably Sir Thomas Lawrence, English painter] : 1 autograph letter signed : 22 Feb 1811 : (MISC 0584) : from Daylesford House : enclosing a check (no longer present) for "the balance due to you from me"; giving consent to the exhibition of a portrait of himself at the Royal Academy. Sir Thomas Lawrence's portrait of Hastings, commissioned for the wife of Colonel Barton, was exhibited at the Royal Academy in 1811.
