Summary
  1. This program celebrates the career and legacy of Antony Tudor. The program begins with a short film titled "Tudor: ABT's artistic conscience," which explores the choreographer's association with American Ballet Theatre through archival footage and commentary. Panel discussion is interspersed with live performances and with video clips of performances and excerpts from an interview with Tudor in the television program Modern ballet. Video clips include Agnes DeMille in Judgment of Paris, Nora Kaye and Hugh Laing in Romeo and Juliet. The panelists discuss Tudor's early years in London; the importance of acting and character development in the performance of his works; Tudor's relationship with Hugh Laing; the restaging of Judgment of Paris; the psychological and dramatic aspects of Lilac garden, Pillar of fire and Romeo and Juliet; Tudor's teaching methods; and his experiments with abstraction in Little improvisations, Continuo and Leaves are fading.
