- Summary
- A documentary about the American woman who, in 1930s Vienna, risked her life working in the Austrian resistance and helping Jews and anti-Nazis escape Hitler's wrath. The striking similarities between the life of Gardiner and that of 'Julia' in Lillian Hellman's Pentimento have lead people to question the accuracy of Hellman's memoir, a situation which the film explores also.
