Summary
The Thief of Bagdad falls in love with a princess and in order to court her, poses as a prince. Confessing to his deception, he is sent by the Holy Man in quest of a magic chest reputed to bring happiness. He succeeds in his mission, rescues the city from the Mongols, and wins the princess. Perhaps the most opulent of all Fairbanks' films, this exotic fairy tale fantasy set a new Hollywood standard with the magnificence of William Cameron Menzie's setings and costumes and the technical accomplishments of the magic carpet.
