- Summary
- Director Newton Meltzer gained access to the sets of major television programs during production to examine the work of highly successful TV directors in different areas of the entertainment world. The film begins on the set of the sit-com Silver spoons where director Jack Shea tackles the 120th episode of the show. Perry Miller Adato, producer of numerous PBS documentaries, explains why she became involved in the medium. George Schaefer, known for his work on the Hall of Fame series, is seen directing Katharine Hepburn in Mrs. Delafield wants to marry. Don Mischer, director of the Kennedy Center honors, is seen organizing a musical special.
