- Description
- 1 videocassette (22 min.) : sd., col.; 1/2 in.
- Summary
- This program traces man's historic attempts to probe the ocean depth, from Alexander the Great's glass diving barrel and an untested design by Leonardo Da Vinci to the latest in sophisticated submarines capable of descending to 15,000 feet. New scientific diving equipment and several record dives are shown. Cousteau points out why it is necessary to design diving machines that bring men rather than just instruments to the ocean's depths.
