Summary
  1. Joris Ivens made this classic anti-fascist documentary on the Spanish Civil War to enlist support in the West for the Spanish Loyalist cause against Franco. The film develops two parallel themes: the building of an irrigation project by farmers in order to grow food for the troops and civilians and the defense of the Spanish democracy by the people's civilian army.
