- This dramatic film inspired by the autobiographical short story of Tillie Olsen features the thoughtful reveries of a mother. Performing the ritual chore of ironing, she re-evaluates her relationship with her nineteen-year-old daughter. The memories of mother and daughter, photographed in black and white, as a montage interrupt the color images of ironing.
