- Summary
- Bill Moyers interviews Warren Burger on the day the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court submitted his resignation. The program includes a brief illustrated history of the nation under the Articles of Confederation. The interview includes topics such as the compromises that made up the Constitutional Convention, Marbury vs. Madison, a general description of the operation of the Supreme Court and of the process of appointing justices. Burger discusses the events and people who shaped his life and career. He offers opinions on capital cases, school prayer, abortion, freedom of the press and the use of original intent in interpreting the Constitution.
