- Summary
- Doctors from the Center for Disease Control and the New York Hospital-Cornell Medical Center provide facts which help correct misinformation about AIDS--particularly, the mistaken belief that it can be transmitted casually. The severity of AIDS and the threat to public health it represents are illustrated through profiles of five patients, all of whom contracted the disease and suffered its consequences in different ways. The plight of the victims is made all the more poignant by the suffering of family members. The objectives of this documentary are to educate, alleviate fear and superstition, and help foster humane regard for victims.
