- Summary
- A deadly plague called "blood rust" has ravaged the earth requiring those infected to be banished to the planet Mars. A young boy is transported to the desolate planet and informs a fellow outcast that he is possessed of the power to turn a person's dream into reality if only for a fleeting moment. The outcast's protector attempts to shield him from the other exiled inhabitants desperate to ease their despair through the boy's telepathetic abilities. The boy's attempts to ration his psychic gift end in tragedy.
