Summary
  1. In 19th century Seville, the lusty Carmen seduces a naive army corporal, Don Jose. Jose abandons his career and comrades for the love of this sultry gypsy. Carmen, however, soon spurns Jose for the love of a toreador, Escamillo. Crazed with jealousy, Jose begs Carmen to return to him, but her taunting declaration of independence results in tragedy. Following the film, Geraldine Farrar is heard in her 1914/15 Victor recordings of the Habañera, Seguidille, and Final Scene from Carmen.
