- Summary
- The blues of John Lee Hooker reflect both his Mississippi origins and his Detroit experience. This tape of one of Mark Naftalin's weekly tv programs at the Sleeping Lady Cafe in Fairfax, California, features Hooker in spontaneous performances of Low flame blues and Jumping boogies. He is supported by an all-star California Band with blues harmonica master Charlie Musselwhite. Musical numbers include: "Help me" (by Sonny Boy Wiliamson); "Night club" (by Mose Allison); "So cold in Chicago" (by Bobby Blue Bland); "Worried life blues" (by Maceo Merriweather); "Voodoo woman" (by John Lee Hooker).
