- Summary
- Carol, a young woman who adroitly modulates her voice to create an eerie atmosphere, tells tales of supernatural occurrences. In the Haitian story, "Faisan," a little girl befriends a talking fish. When her mother finds out about Faisan, she is determined to kill it; she believes the fish is possessed by the devil. "You'll know I'm no longer with you if three drops of blood appear on your breast..." Faisan tells the little girl. "Hist Whist," based on poetry by e. e. cuummings, and "Mary Culhane and the Dead Man," are also told. (also available in 3/4 in. format.)
